Jaime Saldanha was born in 1980 and fired his first shots at 9, going along with his father, Roberto Saldanha, to precision shooting practice. At 16 he started practical shooting, with IPSC Handgun as his goal. In his second year he was already São Paulo state champion in Standard, the most contested division in Brazil at the time.
Since 1998 he has shot around 20 official competitions a year, in Brazil and abroad. For 21 years he has been among the top 10 shooters in the world.
He is also Brazilian NRA and Fast Draw champion, with a national record (500/500 and 46x), and competes in IPSC Rifle, Shotgun and PCC. He teaches at Clube Águia de Haia, coaches private students and recently opened his own training facility in Atibaia, São Paulo. He speaks advanced English.

Do I need a range to train?
Module 2's workbook has, for each stage diagram (the stage drawn out, with distances and targets), dry fire and live fire drills. Dry fire is done at home, with an unloaded gun and no ammunition in the room. Live fire is done at a range, with a timer.
Do I need a lot of ammo?
Not necessarily. More ammo speeds up progress, as long as you train smart and focus on fundamentals. But dry fire is the foundation of everything.
Does it work for my division?
The courses cover core fundamentals, movement, position entry and moving targets, which apply to every IPSC division. In the videos, Jaime uses several types of guns and sights to show how the techniques differ between them, where they do.
Which division should I start in?
Iron sights and minor power factor. Production is a good place to start.
Is there physical training?
Yes. Lesson 42 of Module 2 covers physical preparation.
